i am definatley going to change my full exhaust system and the question is should i take the rear pu off or is it just as easy to remove the rear wheels and take them out that way
if its the pu removal way does anyone have any tips or links to help and forgive my ignorance but what does pu stand for

any help apreciated thanks peter

ps do we have spell check

I replaced my exhaust without removing the PU or wheels. If you have the time, do WD40 the bracket bolts that you can see through the exhaust manifold first. Also be prepared to cut the bolts on the cat to silencer clamps as they rust badly! Either have now nuts and bolts or get new clamps although they are about £20 each if I remember clearly. PM me you email address and I will send you the instructions.

hi is anyone using standard silencers that have been modified as in they have had a pipe welded in between the inlet and outlet of the silencer as a bypass there is a german outfit doing them on ebay if so what do they sound like

Yeah,I fitted a set of modified silencers, they weren't off ebay but they're the same with the pipe let in between the box and tailpipe. The car sounds a lot better, well worth doing in my opinion. With regards to changing the silencers it's an easy enough job, it's just corrosion and seized bolts that are the problem, having said that mines 10 years old with 100,000 miles,if your's is younger you probably won't have the same problems.

Tony Wright at Wrightune did mine on my old Cabriolet. Sounded fantastic.

I had Oettles with the bypass pipe from the inlet and exhaust pipe. The car absolutely sang and it sounds like the PSE and there was no boom/resonance. In my humble opinion, its the best modification you can do for the money.

hi old system off today a bit of a battle but nothing has snapped in the block but some of the bolts that started life as a 13mm came off with a 9mm socket i had a silencer with a rattle which i thought was a baffle plate so i opened it up to have a look and i hope the picture works and the pipe that i am pointing to is the one that comes loose and rattles so tomorrow hopfully new headers different cats and modified silences to be fitted with stainless bolts icant wait to hear it
