Expansion Tank Cap

My 2005 997 carrera s has been using water at a rate of about half a pint per 1500 miles dropping from the max to the min marks in the expansion tank.
The nice guys at PCT in Coventry have crawled under it and cannot find any sign of leaks from rads, pipework or engine. They suggest it may be a poorly sealing expansion tank cap. Does anyone out there have any experience of similar problems.
 
Yes,just renewed mine on a 2005 996.Had the system pressure tested no leaks.then changed the cap.no problems since.Quite a common fault as they
have changed the cap 4 times to date
