There was an article in the Honest John column in the Telegraph motoring pull out on Saturday about a chap who had a 2000 Boxster 2.7 with low mileage which had variosu problems such as white smoke and congealed oil and which ultimaltty suffered an engine blow out on a track day. Had been at his OPC who had poo pooed anything serious . Has been quoted something like £6 k for a repair. Honest John the columnist said this "was typical of low mileage, low use Porsches such as the 986 and even 996 3.4's" Not techie enough to copy/scan/link to the article but poss available on the telegraph on line sevice
