Extended warranty is it worth getting it?

Hi guys n girls,

Need your input on whether its worth buying the Porsche warranty as it has increased dramatically this year from £900 to over £1300.

My car is Cayenne S 53 plate...and also are the any known problems with these older cars?

thanks in advance :)

I also have a 53 plate Cayenne (65K miles) - which has very recently had a new gearbox controller, front diff and internal fan - all under the extended warrantee. I think for that reason and the peace of mind it is worth it. Also as it is transferable, it is also an additional resale feature.

The only issues I have had with mine have been
- an intermittent jolting automatic gear change in low gears and the whistling internal fan
- a couple of blown headlamp bulbs (changed under warrantee)
- I also had blocked roof drains which then overflowed into the passenger footwell but I put that down to it being in the showroom (before I had it) and the drain exits sticking.

Happy motoring.....

I wish I'd continued mine but I missed the anniversary date!

Prop shaft has just gone on my 53 Cayenne S at 80k. Dodgy electrical problems though which are intermittent and therefore difficult to find. Expensive too at an OPC hourly rate.

I'm considering the £1300 renewal after the prop is done - shafted twice!! []

Just had a long debate with OPC today about it. Appears the new warranty prices are not going down well and a lot of people have walked away. Offered me a 200 pound discount if I bought next years now (six months in advance). At 1300 it's touch and go whether it represents value though.

Hi Neil

Can you tell me how to get a £200 off the £1350 price for the 1 year warranty...also what dealer did you get it from?

thanks m8
