My Cayenne 3.0 L Diesel 3 years standard warranty is due to expire on 1st March 2019. The mileage is 35k. My local OPC has today sent me a quote for an extended Warranty, also the 111 point check.
1 Year warranty Or 2 Years Warranty
111 point check = £180.00
1 Years Warranty = £800.00 2 Years Warranty = £1440.00
1 Year Porsche Assistance = £169.00 2 Years Porsche Assistance = £275.00
Total = £1149.00 for 1 year Total = £1895.00 for 2 years
I would appreciate any advice/comments from members on the above in relation to is the extended warranty worth it, also if there are any points I should take into consideration when making my decision.

Ours was up for renewal this time last year. After due consideration we bit the bullet and renewed. Ours has proved reliable with no issues in our ownership of 3 years, but having had occasion to use both the Warranty and the Assistance with a previous Porsche my experience has been that it was prompt and seamless to use, and more than paid for itself in that instance. You could argue bank the money and if nothing happens you are £1900 better off, but if anything does fail would it come to more than the £1900? That's the gamble. Obviously with the warranty if anything fails you should have no worries about bill size as it ought to be covered. It is also fair to say that if your car is warrantied then you are probably tied to OPC servicing, parts and costs, but if you do not renew the Porsche warranty then you have the option to use a specialist and probably have savings on labour and parts costs.

A couple of quick points, I think the 111 point check fee above has been discounted - over £200 for the full price rings a bell with me, but stand to be corrected. Secondly if you are going to renew the warranty have the 111 check done before your current warranty runs out. That way if anything is needed to bring it up to standard (other than 'wearables' like wipers/brakes etc) it should be done under the existing warranty. I am aware of someone who had the renewal check done just after their warranty ran out, faults were found and they had a fight to get them corrected for free as the existing warranty had run out.

Hope this helps

The engine had to be replaced in my Macan 3.0S at less than three years old and c. 18k miles.
Said to have cost PAG £17k.
I went for 2 year extension option when standard warranty expired.

Although mine is a Cayman, I renewed my two year warranty in January and had to pay the cost of the 111 point check.

Its really all about piece of mind and as I am touring Italy this year I have the bonus of EU wide Assistance too.

Like any insurance, it always appears expensive until you actually need to claim. The added bonus with the Porsche Extended Warranty is that there is no excess £ to pay!
