Extended Warranty prices

I have a 991.2 which will be 3 years old at the end of June. I’m considering buying the extended warranty for 1 or 2 years. I’ve been quoted £1,020 and £1,840 respectively by my local OPC. Has anyone bought the extended warranty recently from Porsche and if so how do these prices compare with what you paid? I would assume that since this is a Porsche product and not an OPC one, the price should be the same from all OPC’s but.......

I had my 1st (2 year) service done at Portsmouth OPC on Monday, at the same time I enquired about costs to extend my warranty, i was quoted the same prices as you mention and also a flat £216 fee on top for the 111 point check that needs to be completed before a warranty can be purchased... there was no offer of any discount despite me just paying for a service, which I expect covers a lot of the 111 point checks... Porsche Assist was extra on top of those figures... as I have another years warranty left to run I decided not to renew at the present time, decision could have been different had they offered some incentive around the £216 fee..

Some PC's offer a free 111 point check if done simultaneously with the service as much of the work is duplicated. You should confirm this before booking in the car in.

Compared to other high-end marques, the cost is competitive and good for peace of mind because, for example, a replacement PDK gearbox is £12k!

Yes, mine has always included the 111 point check as part of the service at no extra charge. Of course mine had a 2 year initial warranty so the service a warranty renewal fell on the same date. Problem with the intial 3 year warranty is that it puts it out of sync. I would get a one year warranty renewal at the start of year 4 and then go for a 2 year warranty to coincide with future services. As an aside I reckon that the extended warranties have more than paid for themselves over the years.

last time I did mine the 111 check was waived as I'd done it at time of service. Doing it again later this year so will see what happens then. Prices you've got seem about right - given comments from others on assist costs. My 991.1 has been under warranty since I got it and intend to keep extending it as Clive says, some potentially unpalatable bills otherwise.

have heard some concerns elsewhere lately about some dealership pricing for services being increased a lot - so think post lockdown there is likely some more variation in dealer franchise service pricing than previously.
