Extended warranty

Just had 111 point check fitted in at 11th hour after failing to get reminder that my extended warranty was due to run out.... Including the original I am now on my 4th RMS and have had a further 2 coil packs replaced which were cracked. Neither the minor leak at the seal or the coilpacks was I aware of as issues - but then again I had no awareness on the previous occasions! Also picked up was the fact that a number of teeth were missing on the polybelt presumably after a stone or piece of grit had been thrown up - this also was replaced. Turns out that the reduced price for the warranty is now less than an engine out RMS replacement! Needless to say I have extended my warranty. Andy

Andy When I last had an RMS - I worked out that the extended warranty, which was then full price would mean I would need 3 RMS' or equivalent in a year to get my money back. Is the extended warranty now 1/3 the original price or has the cost of an RMS suddenly increased a lot?

The PC's get paid different amount from insurance claim than that charged to customers. So the PC gets about £600 for an RMS if the insurance are paying as apposed to circa £800 if a customer is paying. It still amazes me that poor design costs us, by paying or insuring, and not the manufacturer![]

Have checked with OPC and you are quite correct - the price for a RMS for PCGB members after discount is approx £820 inc vat. The figure initially quoted to me included work on the clutch ( if required). Andy
