I was happily cleaning my 89 SSE at the weekend, I noticed the black rubber trim that runs from front to rear wheelarch ( near ground level ) was coming away, a prod later and it had indeed come away near the rear wheelarch !!
The rubber is good but the metal strip was rusted away, anyone experianced similar ? or know the name of this part ?
Thanks

Do you mean the rubber sill trim?

If so, sounds like your sill covers have rotted - best get both of them off and have a look behind.

They are available new from Porsche (and others) but be aware that you probably will not get a good fit 'out of the box' and they will need some slight adjustment. Ask me how I know........
