Hey Lee - if you're looking at replacing just the backboxes then its a very easy DIY - no, really it is!!

I have Fabsepeed's and would not put the standard pipes back on! They sound Fab! worth every penny. They in reality do nothing for performance, they are just purely sound, and what a sound. I have decats as well.

No resonance!!!!!

They make a 993 sound as it should, they are far to quite as standard due to sound regulations etc.... I first bought the Motorsound airbox, this is now redundant!

If you buy the supercups you are asking for trouble as they are "Da bomb" go for the Maxflow's they are just right.

They are expensive though!!

I have the Maxflo's and what a difference they make. I have just driven 600 miles in the last couple of days, what I do for a couple of rounds of golf, and still turn off the radio, open the windows and sunroof to listen to the sound, fantastic.

If you do a search you can hear the OEM against the maxflo as I posted a link to a sound file I did.

Would be sceptical about power increases, though the engine seemed to feel a bit more eager.

Did you order from the US, and if so was there duty to pay on delivery. (Me thinking strong £ at the moment, so good time to buy)
Was it a DIY fitting project, or did you use a specialist? Were you also tempted to get the airbox?
Mike

Mike,

I picked them up in the UK from a guy who's daughter thought they were too loud.

It is a DIY job, just be aware that the bolts can be difficult to remove if badly rusted.

I had already drilled out the OEM airbox so did not consider the Fabspeed one.
