Facelift 2.7 or a Pre-facelift 3.2S

Am having a "Head or Heart" decision at the moment everyone,as you all know i am new to the forum as i've just found myself in the situation where i can afford to buy the make of my dreams.

i have always wanted a Boxster 3.2S and have found a very high spec car which ticks all the boxes and more, this is the "Heart" side.
My "Head" is saying i can get a Facelift 2.7 which is newer but not as high a spec for the same money.

i have driven both and i have to say the "S" felt soooooo much better,so what would you all recomend?

even though i think i have already made my decision just had to open it up to a wider circle of more knowledgable/experienced people.

many thanks in advance for your input, and see some of you at the Essex meet on the 8th March.

You never want is to be down the road of ownership and constantly be thinking that given the expense of what you've done, that you are not in the car that you always wanted to be in. That your heart has made the choice so obvious tells you something. If we all made "head" decisions on cars, there would be a lot more second hand diesel Fiesta sales.

Although if I made more of a heart decision I'd be driving a 996 GT3-RS and be running from the bank manager. Oh, and dating Heidi Klum.

Dapster - that would be a dream not a decision [:D]

Go for the S, it is a far better car to drive. Even if you have to stretch the budget to a facelift S.

Yep THX911 i would love a facelift S but they are just a bit to much over my budget at the moment, and having driven a couple now my enthusiam to get a Boxster is grown even more especially as spring is just round the corner!!!!

and have my trip to Le Mans with friends booked and my goal is to be driving a Boxster S down there this year!!!!

No pressure really.

Understand your position, as that is where I was last year but manage to wait and got Facelift Boxster S 2003 just a couple of months ago... Now is a good time too as come Summer the prices get knocked up by up to a grand (private sells) and the price build up starts in Spring...

Having owned a 2.7 and now a facelift 3.2 I can heartily say that whilst the 2.7 was a bloomin fantastic car, i'm thoroughly loved up with my 3.2. That little bit of extra grunt really does increase the grin factor!

[:D]

[8D]Sounds like a great summer is in stall for you .. Good Luck with the new "S" I am getting my 5th one this month so know how you feel [;)]

Excellent stuff - brings it all back.....my S was also my first Porsche / first drop top, etc.....and that was April '03 - 3 months before we had those amazing record temperatures in the UK!! The thrill of driving through gorgeous days and those muggy nights is something I'm quite sure I'll never forget........

And as for the last few days before the car arrived? Couldn't concentrate on my work at all!!

Your new life is just 2-3 weeks away (and counting.........)

Thanks for the post reassuring me that i've done the right thing and that my new life just a couple of weeks away.

and i'm sure the last few days will be tough going, fortunately i'm away in Edinburgh for a stag weekend(not mine)and none of the group of friends that are going know what i've done yet so it'll be a goodtime to tell them all!!!!

Looking forward to meeting a few of the Essex members on the 8th March at the OPC in Colchester,i won't be Boxster'd up by then though but my heart is beating Porsche!!!!!!!

Thanks Dawn,am looking forward to tonight alot i have to admit, will be finalizing the details with Daniel at Colchester OPC,as thats where i have bought it from.

OK i could have got it cheaper in a private sale or from a specialist but i decided for my 1st Porsche i wanted the piece of mind.

see you all tonight around 8pm.
