Can anyone else confirm if OPC's will be taking orders for the facelift 997 this coming August ? 4-5 months lead time apparently. Whats the view on likely engine tweaks (bhp/torque)?

Cheers Jon

I agree on the 997 "facelift" being scheduled for Summer 2008. But I'm pretty sure the OPC bod said orders were going to be taken from roughly August 07 onwards, but couldn't say for definite as no information was forthcoming from the factory. Perhaps he meant August 08, but it didn't sound like it.

OPCs will take orders for anything (speculative or not). For example, if you went to an OPC and said you wanted to put your name / deposit down for a 997GT2, then they'd let you, but I'd doubt they'd be able to give you a delivery date.

With regards to the 997.5, I've read bhp increases speculating anything from 9 to 20 hp.

There has been a case of OPC's telling people what they want to hear.

I have clients that want a facelift and OPC's are taking deposit for MY2008, delivery Sept 2007. Other clients that won't order current generation if a face lift is imminent, deposit taken for current model as facelift is 100% MY2009.

My OPC, from whom I have collected car from today and who i have told many times that I wasn't bothered about the facelift anyways - reckons that Porsche GB, Reading have confirmed MY2009 with first deliveries autumn 2008.
