Facelift Conversion

With regards to my '99 C2 Tip, I am considering upgrading the lights to the post '01 facelift type. Obviously new lights are needed and front PU. Do I need wings as well and is it a straight forward job of removing the above items and fitting them back together of are there any modifications that need done. I would love to hear from anyone that has done the above mod.

I think you will need the PU, wings, lights, light platforms, and some rewiring of the light connectors. Take a look on Renntech.org and do a search for "+facelift +conversion" (without the quotes) - it will turn up a few threads from Boxster and 996 owners who have done it. Someone on here did it a while ago, as I recall...... There is also a thread here from someone who did a 996-997 conversion too.

The rate prices are going, it may be cheaper to buy a facelift !!!

If you do decide to do the conversion, I'd recommend that you take plenty of before, during and after conversion shots. Otherwise - looking ahead - some potential purchasers may well assume you did it because it has had a front end impact.

You're right Diesel130. Facelifts are getting cheaper. If it had only been lights and PU I would probably have done it.
