Facelifted 997 September 07

One thing that hasn't appeared amongst all of the specualtion about what the facelift will contain and when, is the expected hit that residuals of the current 997 might take with the launch of the facelift version, does anybody have any views on this?
What happened with the intro of the 996 facelift a few years ago (I am assuming it's not fair to compare the residual drop when they launched the "all new" 997 rather than a few cosmetic tweaks)??
If the new 997 is really due in September should I consider waiting until later in the year? This is the first car I will have bought personally in ten years and my first Porsche so I don't want to start my ownership with taking a huge slug of depreciation!!
I will have my current company car until end Mar 2008 so am not under any pressure to buy someting in a rush but conversely now that I have made the decision to get a Porsche can't wait to become an owner!!
Also are 2nd hand Porsche prices affected by seasonality like brands such as BMW whereby Cab prices will start to climb in as we move towards summer with coupes tailing off a bit?
Cheers

Every new model year will affect residuals. I bought a new 997 C2S just over a year ago and could not be happier with it; however if I worried about the affect on its residual value, caused by the introduction of all the 997 variants over the last 18 months and now the facelift new later this year, I should never have bought the thing in the first place! The car you are looking for will always be cheaper "later in the year" and yes, I'm sure the facelift will have an affect, but how long can you wait to get into one? Good luck!
