Just write a letter to the after sales service and I paid 100 USD for mine. But got a "free" compaign services completed before Porsche release this paper to me. Here is a USA version for a special order 993RS in turbo body...since each reigion got their own format, mine got a chassis number all over the background.

CUP ? with bolt in cage ? is this correct? I thought welded in cage for cup cars? Did'nt cup cars have different chassis number range also ? The chassis number is in the 964RS range ? Why is the certificate issued from Porsche asia ?

Hi Laurence:

My RS is located in Taiwan, so regional HQ Singapore issued this paper. My RS chassis number fall into basic model, but got a Matter "bolted in" full roll cage, two speedster sun shade and two diagnal tube inside the engine bay. Also a motorsport part white label dated my chassis number which is found on my roll cage. From this certificate also proved two "Cup car" options: 1. LSD (40/100) & 17" cast cup wheel. I am waiting for detail explaination from Porsche...

While I am sure that Porsche know a lot more than I do, I am puzzled by this. To start with, the 40% diff isn't a Cup part but it was standard on the N/GT "clubsport" and, I believe, an option on the basic. I am more puzzled by option 404 which, according to 2 sources I have, is designated "stabiliser bars". I am also puzzled by the wheels. Are they the standard magnesium ones? The final annomily is that option 481 is listed as being 5 speed manual gearbox.

Puzzled of Australia!

Simon someone I know in Hong Kong with a RHD 964RS has a certificate from his local dealer who supplied the car from new ... it was factory delivered in Rubystone with a 3.8 Wing and 18" BBS it has covered only 5000klms ... and has air con which was an unofficial option ... half heigo and harness's ... never seen a track .. everything from factory ... and his certificate has all this with matching numbers all over the shop ... except the shell .... I mailed him and asked him to pull his carpet back and look at the rear shelf shell number ... he loved his car ... he sent me a reply, which I can not print ... needless to say he is now having counselling[:(]

Hi Carreraboy:

I bought my LHD RS from the same previous owner from HK. At year 2000, my clock is around 3,500 km since LHD can not get the plate from the government. The previous owner brought noth RS on the track for sure even I have a photo to show both Rubystone red LHD & RHD side by side in pit. The previous owner installed the AC , half heigo and 3.8 wing later thought...

It is a standard 964 air box without the short tube at the end, but got couple drilled holes on the side...Later i had it cut out like cup car frame to expose the whole air filter.

That´s what I have with a K&N filter. Works fine since many years and sounds great.

That's what was originally fitted to my N-GT before the cone was fitted --- I believe I still have the bits ---

I got a reply from the factory:

"I just got some message from our region office in Singapore.
They double check the type again and find your car is categorized as a Cup-car.
But it can be used as a 911 Cup or 911 Carrera RS.
Therefore, they would like to know which one is your preference. Please let me know.
In addition, for the color of Ruby star, it's translated from German "Sternrubin".
It also can be translated to Ruby Stone Red.
Please let me know what is your preference.
Thank you for your waiting and so apology again!"

Surely your Chassis number is either a Cup or other derivative 964RS

?

Is this someone in Weissach on the local Beer .... we will print off what you want?

Once you start looking behind the scenes, you´ll find a lot of BS at the factory or the dealerships. Not always, but from time to time it´s astonishing.
On the other hand Porsche didn´t pay any attention to potential future questions like that those days.

Yep would guess an obliging "Dealer" will make you a certificate embelished to your dreams ... as there is no warranty or comebacks ... and a happy Customer ...
