Haven't physically seen the new Porsche Sports Exhaust but in the official price list [£1022.00 ex factory] it is described as "Features modified main silencers" which sounds like the standard kit has been played with and then a whopping £1022.00 is charged for something that probably doesn't even cost a few hundred extra in the first place [:D]

Asked local OPC if they have a demo car with the system fitted and the sales person said they no longer fit the PSE on any of there demo's as most customers are not interested and won't pay any extra should there demo have the system fitted [&o]

He said if you buy it treat the money as gone from day one and enjoy the sound but don't look to recoup a penny come PX time [:D]

good advice on options

any buyer should see them as a treat for themselves and a means to ensure the sale of the car but not increasing its secondhand value
 
Spec options for yourself. Why on earth worry about speccing the car for the next owner?

Whatever the salesman says... [&:]

With the hard top or soft top in place the noise isn't so apparant but pedestrians seem to notice the difference!

Your car looks amazing and the wheels are fantastic in the black ... It's funny but my 987 S with the roof up is far noisier sounding exhaust wise and I would say 50%+ is lost with the hood down [&o] Sounds like your car with the PSe is the other way around or am I misreading your posting [8D]

You might be hearing the induction noise rather than the exhaust noise with your hood in place. The PSE is considerably louder than standard and is easily heard above the wind noise with the roof down.

You are correct it is the fabulous induction sound track I can hear, DAB clear, with the hood up, which in my case is probably no more than 2 or 3 trips a year [8D] hence my desire to go PSE at change time.
 
Before anyone shells out for a PSE or aftermarket system i sugest they hang on til 12-15k miles are under the wheels - my stock system is most definitely rortier than when new, so much so pedestrians look at me at even sedate pace :D
