Failed MOT ---briliant though!!!

There should be two. As long as one works, I believe you are legal.

Either both yours have failed, (in which case there is no defence, m'lud) or, they are being a bit over zealous.

When the bulb in mine went recently (that's how I know it's like day1zero's) the remaining one only lit half the number plate, so I would expect that's why it failed. I cant remember what wattage the bulb is but it's quite low and the plastic lense isn't particularly clear.

I've fallen for that one also, however the lads at the garage played with the corroded contacts, changed the bulb and passed it so thumbs up to them. However last week I did fail on a new one, my rear fogs not working???? I came home, stripped the units out loosing a retaining screw in the process, bulbs ok, checked the fuses, relays etc everything ok, turned them on and off in the hope they would miraculously illuminate. Then like magic, I turned the front fogs on then the rears and illumination occured. Only if i read the bloody manual that tells you the rears only come on if the fronts are on !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! never mind took it back the next day and got the green light. I'm not saying you lot are as daft as me but watch out for that one, rather embarrasing.

Yes....was only one side that failed....and that was enough for failure.....does only illuminate half the plate!!
