Some while ago I read an article in (I think) 911 and Porsche World which featured the ex-Nick Faldo 964RS Lightweight. I can't seem to find it now, and would appreciate it if anyone who has a copy could get in touch.

TIA

Don't remember this, there was an artice in 911 & PW about a black ex Faldo 964 Turbo S...are you sure that wasn't the one?

Maybe it's my memory that's a bit blurred then. I remember the black Turbo S (that Gmund sold last year) but I was sure there was an RS that was attributed to him. Must have been a good year or two ago - which is the problem (ie my memory).

Yes it was a red 959 that Andrew had at Gmund Cars about 4 years ago He actually took me out in it - awesome car!! The car had to be totally redone after his wife bashed it with his golf clubs - no panel was spared!!

The papers reported a Repair Bill of £10k for the panel work in 1998, seems quite reasonable for a 959. Must have been a sympathetic Flat 6 Iron she used!!!!

Thanks - I got a few grey cells working together and dug out the article. It was the Turbo S I was thinking about - I was confusing it with the article they did on a 964 RS L/w.

The Car was sold by Shirleys about 4 years ago for £45Kish Black with original Carbon Panels i.e boot front lid etc a true Leicthbau Turbo ....Porsche should have called it a Turbo RS....not to be confused with the later Turbo S models which bear no resemblance to this..... probably one of the finest Turbo's Porsche ever made and in my book a real RS...[:)]

964 Turbo S, Black,
We had the car a couple of years ago, I had to spend a couple of weeks detailing the car and workinng on the paint as it was really un-loved, was a great car to drive but did seem very "laggy" when the turbo kikked in. The cars had loads of uniquie details which makes them really interesting. We sold Mr Faldo's Turbo S to a customer in Hong Kong, who luckily really looks after it. Andrew www.gmundcars.com
