Fan bearing removal?

Can anyone tell me how to remove the bearing from the fan,I'm going to have it powder coated so need to remove it,thanks in advance for any help.

The fan is pressed onto the alternator shaft and needs to be removed with a puller once the alternator has been removed from the car. Or you can carefully tap it off if you support the fan well.

There's a useful video here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pxAuGnDtKAs
And also a thread with pics on Rennlist: http://forums.rennlist.com/rennforums/964-1989-1994-911/296501-fan-removal.html
And a DIY here: http://p-car.com/diy/alternator/alternator.html

Thanks for the reply, I've got the fan off the shaft but the fan itself has a bearing pressed into it.The pictures show the centre boss of the fan still on the alternator shaft, mine doesn't look like that, the centre boss looks like part of the fan casting with the bearing in it.The front face of the fan seems to have a lip on it that the bearing presses up to,behind the bearing there is a sort of spring washer which looks like it will be a git to get out,I wonder if that has to come out and the bearing removed through the back of the fan?

Yep [:D] I'm confused as to why the fan would have a bearing attached to it when it's meant to be pressed onto, and rotate with, the shaft...

Post some pics and we'll work it out. [:)]

I've just had another look and found that the centre boss, which carries the bearing,is pressed into the fan casting so that will come out with the bearing in it.I,hopefully, will get that out tommorow which will allow me to get the fan powder coated and I'll have a look at what drives what when I get it back.I'm having the rocker covers done as well, this all started with changing the plugs, then I thought I might as well do the tappets, might as well tidy the exhaust up,might as well tidy the tinware, might as well.........anyway the cars in pieces now, lots of pieces and tonight was my first panic so thanks for the replies,I'll let you know what I find.
