Fan housing

The fan housing on my SC is complete but looking shabby. Is it easy to remove and how can it be made to look good? Any ideas?
 
Here's the evidence. When I had the engine rebuilt, the sages at RPM pointed out I'd spent a lot of money on things like ceramic alloy cylinder liners, polished cam shafts and all kinds of stuff (I hope) I'll never see - might as well finish the job and do something with the bits you can see....

The cowl and fan were shot blasted to remove most of the corrosion then each was powder coated and the powder melted onto the parts. Still some pitting on the cowl from the corrosion, but the nice thing with the powder coating is that it seems like a very tough material. Can't see it needing anything but a wipe in my lifetime.

The main pulley, as with many other similar parts in the engine like band around the cowl and nuts etc were also cleaned up and electroplated with yellow chromate - looks the part, but also a long term investment against corrosion.
 
If you find yourself a shot blaster. / powder wallah, here's another worthwhile project. My rocker covers were previously perfectly serviceable but dull grey corroded alloy. I hadn't even noticed they had Porsche picked out in raised lettering. They were blasted then coated, then machined to remove the coating off the top surface off the lettering. V nice...
