Fancy a drive in a Koenigsegg?

Hi Chaps,

Hope this is OK to post here. I have a great opportunity to raise some money for charity and drive a Koenigsegg/ Zonda/ Gumpert/ Spker up at RAF Leuchars on Friday 28th March.

The event is called RAF vs Rio.

The cost is £640 + VAT for a driver, and drivers can bring a guest for £100 + VAT. All profit from the event will go to charity.

Basically, drivers will get 2 runs (supervised) on the main taxiway at Leuchars in each car (provided they hold out!). We will also provide lunch, a look round the base and the planes, a precision driving test, and drinks in the officers mess afterwards. We can also arrange accomodation at the Fairmont that night (£155 per room B&B), as we are having an informal get together there.

Oh, and you can also bid to "race" any one of the above against a Tornado as well.

Let me know if anyone is interested - the charity is Help for Heroes.

Are spectators allowed.......I'd like to see the race with the 'tornado'.........isn't that Gung-Ho Gordon's other nick-name[8D]???

Kim - no spectators I am afraid, only drivers and their guests.

Dougie, yes I've had the 944 for a year now and absolutely love it!

Do they do a Seniors rate......such a pity spectators are not allowed we could have made this a day out and collected monies for the charity

Probably security issues though you could stand on the earth bank at west end of runway on road into Leuchars and watch

You get a great view down runway

Dougie, are you some sort of spy??!!!

Its supposed to be a high tech air base BUT the fence separating it from main road into it is 4 ft high! an 100 yards up the road an main gate there are armed guards an double razor wire!

Kids love standing on banking watching planes coming in and out. You often get one of the local enthusiasts armed with SW radio letting you know whats coming and going

Often wondered though how many feet beyond fence you would get if you were stupid enough to cross it!

Ed, wish I'd have seen this in time I might have been interested.

Keep me posted for next time.

Also I called and left a message for you but didn't get you and haven't haeard back from you.

cheers

Spotted your One Devonshire Gardens tip on Pistonheads TOO LATE ( I only dip in now and again)

Was round the corner in Hyndland at the time and my 12year old son is giving me dogs abuse at missing it

Any chance you might/could/would let us know here on Scotland section of any similar event as I'm sure some of the big Kids here would appreciate it

Ta in advance

Cheers

Hi Paul,

Sorry, never got your message - where did you leave it - at the office or on my mobile? We had a good day, but will probably repeat it later in the year.

I have a last minute offer on our Spring Run this coming weekend if you are interested? I have had a last minute cancellation and need bums on seats, so if you have the time, I will do you an awesome deal!

I will be posting up on the forum - let me know if you are interested.

Ed

Ed, I would love to have gone on the trip but I am struggling for time being away 5 days a week right now with work, so weekend is family/boys time, but a full weekend is not really possible.

Thanks for asking anyway.

I called in as I have a charity ball and wondered if you could have donated anything for the breast cancer charity auction, but it's Friday now so maybe next year. Just thought it was a good advert in the West as I didn't think you got much publicity over our way.

Hope your well mate and the Porker is standing you well.

Paul
