I know its a little OT, and I hope the mod's dont mind, but......
Who's up for some fantasy Ashes cricket? I nicked this from another website, but it seems to be pretty logical!
I'm running this over on Rennlist too, but I guess as they are predominantly Yanks, and don't know what cricket is, I won't get many takers!
Rules and Regulations:
1. Each Participant will have to pick 11 players. There is however a restriction on how many you can pick from one team. You have to pick minimum 5 from either team
2. Your team must have atleast 4 batsman,atleast 3 bowlers and 1 Wicket keeper .
3.Players can be picked only from the list of players posted in this thread and you have to stick to classification of player as bowler, bastman or WK.If Flintoff is classified as batsmen then you cant pick him as bowler.
4. You must Identify one player as your trump player.
5.Each run scored by a player in your team will fetch 1 point.
6.Each wicket taken by a player in your team will fetch 30 points.
7.Each catch taken by a player in your team will fetch 5 points.
8.Each stumping done by a player in your team will fetch 10 points.
9.Each Run out by a player will fetch him 5 points
10. Bonus Points -
A batsman gets 5 points if he achieves a 50 run milestone - so for eg if he scores 200 then he gets 20 points.
A bowler gets 10 points if he gets 5+ wickets in a inning and 20 points for 10+ wickets in a match
A fielder/WK gets 10 points if he assists in 5 dismissals in a inning. - for eg if a player has 3 catches and has assisted in 2 run outs he will earn 10 bonus points..Another eg if a WK has 5 dismissals due to stumpings and catches he gets the bonus
11. Each MOM award gets a bonus of 15 points
12. Each point scored by your trump player will be doubled.
13. Result will be posted after each day of the test.
14. After the 3rd test, there will be the opportunity to change 3 players. The same rules about the number of bowlers/batsmen/icket keepers still apply.
15. If your player is not picked or is injured, I guess he's not gonna score many points!

Oh, and entries must be in by midnight GMT on Tuesday. That'll give me a day to compile the list and post it here so there's no cheating!
