Farewell and thanks

After 4 years of 997 ownership I sold my car on Thursday. This was partly due to a change of house (new one currently does not have a garage) but also wanting to sell it whilst I could get a decent price (expecting a flood of cars on the used market when the new 991 is released).

The car has been utterly brilliant.

Ever since I was a child I dreamed of owning a 911 (lets face it the Countach was never a practical reality) and I feel privileged to have been a custodian of one of these cars.

I shall probably dip my toe into the sports car pond at some point in the future. I like different experiences and quite fancy a 430 (once I have a garage!)

Being a member of this club for 4 years has been a great experience. I have not taken advantage of the days out when I would have liked to but never seemed to be able to find the time. However I have read everyones posts with interest. Whenever I have posted a question or query I have instantly received helpful, constructive and well informed replies.

Thank you Gary for all the hard work you and your colleagues do and I wish you all well. Who knows I may ultimately find the 430 too unreliable and return to Porsche in the future.

Best wishes

Darren
Best of luck with the house (and garage) and Ido hope that you find the time to return to sports cars... however with the way of the world at the moment I feel we could be the last generation to do so.... Have fun [:)]

I wish you all the best, done this a few times myself over the years, you will find the 430 too unreliable and you will miss those days when you can just use it, sadly you will never find that with Ferrari. by all means look at it, show off in it feel good in it, spend money on it the cost of a family holiday every year.
