Is it just my 993 but it seems to have a pathetic (almost embarrassing ) horn. I had this on a VR6, again it was useless! Any thoughts?

Mine's embarrasingly loud - thought it was just loud until I tried it with window open, then also realised how good sound proofing is!

You can even use it on the motorway and other drivers actually hear it and wake up. Ships at sea have been seen to alter course etc.

Weedy horn on my Toyota makes me laugh now.

I think it's a twin-horn, maybe one has gone!?!

My old 964 sounded like a duck quacking, but the 993 is fog-horn loud.

The small horns that were installed as from '96 are not are loud as the trumpet horns they installed before.
Noise regulations....

I reckon this is what you need:

Sorry - couldn't resist!

hi there - The twin trumpet horns on my car were crap as well. The garage checked them over during the last service and there was nothing they could do to rescue them - basically they were shot. Thankfully they are not too frightfully expensive to replace - approx £43 each i think for new ones.

Tim : Make sure that the trumpet horns are installed correctly.
If you look closely, on the base of each of the trumpet horns is an arrow which should point upwards.
