morning all,SUNSHINE!!!!! yipee
ok now the boring stuff, please can someone translate,

3.2s 54k FSPH, EMMISSION WARNING LIGHT.
the emmision warning light came on after short drive, popped into local garage, he put it on a "snap on" diagnostic gizzmo
it came up with P1128 OXYGEN SENSING ADAPTATION IDLE RANGE BANK 1
AND P1130 BANK 2
he cleared the fault code and light went off, car drives fine , power, gear kick down etc ,
looked on his code web site, came up with above, but does not really know what it means,
so over to you guys(ladies)[:D][:D]

It is most likely to be a MAF problem. The error messages you get are typical for a MAF fault. It is unlikely to be the O2 sensors themselves, as it is reporting a fault on both banks.

MAF! ? so what next, drive about till it comes on again,
what is the MAF sensor and what does it do, and is it expensive to repair?

It is the Mass Air Flow sensor, located on the airbox. It measures the air flow into the engine, and the false reading it is giving the engine ECU is causing your error messages. I would suggest removing it and cleaning with Isopropyl Alcohol. If the car has done more than 50,000-ish miles the MAF will be on borrowed time though. They are fairly expensive to replace (Porsche List price is £353) but you can buy them much cheaper from places like Euro Car Parts.

There are other things which could cause P1128/1130, but the MAF is by far the most common. Do a search on www.RennTech.org and you will see what I mean.

thanks for your reply, looked about on the internet, do not seem to have alot of symptoms associated, poor idle, loss of power, etc,
will drive around a bit and wait to see if light comes back on, but will pop off the plug and give it a clean, will do no harm, even if it is not the problem,
thank you
kind regards[:)]

just spoke eurocar parts, they stock two MAF sensors, but do not know which one for my car,
would anyone know the bosch part number please.[8|]
