Fault Code Reader

Any one on here purchased a fault code reader for use on their 993?

Recommendations?

Source?

Worth buying?

Thanks.

Hi Les,

I purchased the Durametric diagnostic tool and software. Very good system although a little expensive.

you could try the rennlist forum and search on fault code reader . There is a very simple diy version for early ish 993's. There may also be a thread on here somewhere if you search hard enough.

Hi

I can agree with previous comments regarding the Durametric software - great piece of kit - available with three options depending on how many Porsches you own.

Option one is one Porsche only
Option two is several Porsches
Option three is I believe unlimited (so commercial garages)

Price obviously varies according to which package you choose - but it is a very user friendly package and excellent for fault-finding, resetting fault codes, viewing engine parameters, etc...

Hope that helps

Hi

I agree with the previous posts regarding the Durametric software - it works really well.

When I bought, there were only two options - option two ('Enthusiasts Kit') and three ('Professional Kit') from the above post.

I bought from Hickley's (http://www.hickleys.com/diagnostics/durametric.php) although I think you can buy direct from Durametric. Be sure to get the one with the correct connector for your model year.

So another vote for Durametric.

Kind regards
Anton
