Faulty Cruise control symptoms

944cabby

New member
When i bought my 944 cab i was advised not to use the cruise control as it apparently wasn't working which to be honest wasn't an issue as living in a rural welsh town i wouldn't be using it anyway.
However, as this summer's been good i've taken her out on a few long runs and switched on the C.C system and it appears to work fine. The only thing i have noticed is that when i switch it off on the same journey without stopping the car appears to "struggle" slightly almost as if theres a slight missfire on one of the cylinders.
There's no audible missfire from the exhaust sound and then when i stop, reset the ingition with the key it goes fine again.
Any thoughts - could this just be a coincidence and unrelated to using the cruise control?

You may struggle to get many replies, there aren't too many of us who have this luxury option.

Cue a stack of people saying ' I have cruise control Paul' [8|]

Back in the day when my Turbo was a 50,000 mile per annum daily driver I was going to fit it as I used to get really bad right leg pain after circa 18 hours in the thing every week but I could never get anyone who knew enough about it to help. That was before the internet really took off though and I imagine it would be easier now.

I have read on Rennlist that some cruise systems are failing and overrevving the engine when the clutch is dipped or not disengaging when the brake is pressed - both are dangerous in different ways of course. Perhaps a post over there where there are many more American owners who had cruise as a common option would be more fruitful.

Oh "I have cruise, Paul" of course with the same rider as mik [:D]
