My car has recently had a deteriorating ignition switch. I need to take 3 or 4 goes at starting the car before the engine fires, the key does not turn fully all the time, so I suspect the switch, not immobiliser etc.
My question is this, how do I replace the barrel or complete unit, without losing the key opening both doors and starting the car, given I have only replacement keys with no numbers?
I have a friendly auto electrician to do the work buit don't know where to get the parts from.
