Big Dave

New member
Just trying to get a "handle" on some favorite colours of the 968 owners ...
Whats your favorite.???
Also,,,
If you could paint your car ANY other colour what would it be.??? That includes NON Porsche colours.....

I like them in Silver and also Maritime Blue.
However, I prefer the lighter version of Maritime but my memory has gone so can't remember the name of the colour.[8|][8|]
A CS could look good in Viper Green with black decals and black wheels[8D][8D]

Steve

Steve.
Do you meen Riviera Blue.??
I actually like both colours of the blue, although the Maritime is a bit "flat" looking, + the Riviera is a tad "washed out"...Something in the middle i think...
Personally i like the RS blue,[Rs Focus or Racing Puma] OR the mettalic blue that the Renault Clio 182 cars are painted in...

Speed Yellow is great, [ yet again it can look a tad flat,in certain light]..But ive seen a 964RS painted in Ferrari Yellow, now that was GORGEOUS.....[8D][8D][8D][8D][8D]
I think thatd suit a 968 just fine....

Oy are you saying I don't polish my car[;)][;)][;)][;)]

The best colour IMO is midnight blue, but it would not suite a CS, I have always liked the deep/purple blue that TVR painted the promotional Cerberas, Midnight blue is as close as Porsche got too it. I guess I am lucky my cars are in my favourite colours[:)][:)]

But Dave what you up too?

I saw a car today, that i thought WOW.. Fab colour..
It was,,,,, a,,,,,,, Renault....[8|][8|][8|],,,,, Megane.....But in the pearlescent yellow..[8D][8D][8D][8D][8D]..It looked fab in the shimmering sun.. But then again, how many days do we get shimmering sun....?????

Sorry Pete, forgot about your car...[ Nice colour,,,,BUT...].. It needs to be a bit more,, lets say,,, metallic. It just looks a little flat, no depth, if you get my meaning....

What AM i up to.???? I dont know, Getting bored maybee,,
Jason, you of all people know what im up to.!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My car is Iris blue, Now thats a nice colour. BUT its a bit "dark" for my liking. I loved the Cobalt blue that my S2 was in, but 968,s just somehow arent right in it....
As a few of you may well know, my car is at sometime going to need a respray, NOT that theres anything wrong with it, its just tired / scratched a bit etc.. NO damage....
So i was just contemplating what "similar" colours to Iris i could "get away with" without it looking too "off the wall"...
The yellows were just me dreaming... I wouldnt colour change the car to yellow from Blue.....
So keep the ideas + suggestions coming....[;)][:D][;)][:D]

I bought a Midnight blue car (with cream leather interior) because I thought it looked classy (oh, and there was the price too...). I know it sounds boring, but I prefer my cars to just do the job and not shout about it like they're more than they actually are. I'd rather they lulled you into a false sense of security, then BAM!

But having said all that I quite fancy a bright red 911 with a GT3 kit. [:D]

Dave,

I agree with you about the Renault yellow, in the right light it is a fabulous colour, but changing your 968
to it would be require JP to project manage it!

I agree with slippers about midnight blue being understated, which is why I like it for my road car, but Maritime
blue suites the track car well, and my nephews can spot me easily when out on the hill[;)][;)][;)]

You've been spending too much time around Pauls Tango race car Dave!!

Viper green would be nice... I wasnt allowed to have a non standard colour so I had to go for the one that looked the best.. Maritime

When the S2 project was still alive my choice of colour would have been Honda Pirate Black. or ICI mettalic Aubergine. But dark colours and track cars dont work... it geta bit too hot in there.

Lali.
Who stopped you from painting your car "non" standard...????

Viper Green is just TOO extreme for me...
I like Pauls Orange car, but not for a road car...

It is Signal Green (not Viper) on the 90's cars. There is a nice original signal green 968 CS in Europe and he posts on US forum.

Loads of 964RS in this colour.

Jason you should have listened to Colin!

Kevin.. Who else!?

If it wasnt going to be a race car then it was going to be a proper colour... I'm quite happy he did to be honest.. it is achingly beutiful.

BMW Imola Red wouldnt be too bad...( better than gaurds pink) and I am also a big fan of their Laguna Seca Blue as well.

The trouble with oranges and yellows is that when you out in the country every bug for 50 miles will see this giant flower and they'll all go for it... You'll spend more time scraping bugs of it than driving it

Signal Green, I agree, very striking.

But lots of 964RS ??

I have seen two. One a Lightweight and the other the famous N-GT.

This has got to be the best colour!
