Favourite detail of your Boxster?

Sorry this post is not about oil, reliability, OPC prices or the like. It's about the visual design of these cars. Even though it's my first Porsche, I've always loved their design language and how they spend decades refining a single theme, especially the 911 (especially the first gen 997).

To me, one of the attractions of the 981 and 718 is that, to my eye, they are the pinnacle of the Boxster shape. Simple and unfussy.

I think the head and tail lights are the best bits...

What about you?

Agree, I think the 981 has the edge on the front lights over the 718, they have more stacked appearance to the 718’ and give it a more aggressive look.

I know that your post primarily relates to the aesthetic design of the Boxster but personally my favourite part is a one that I cannot see and that is the Flat 6 behind the seats. It gives the car another invisible characteristic and that is a soul.

Aesthetically the front wings and rear haunches when they catch the light are just beautiful, as beautiful as any car on the road.

I agree the engine is the soul for any car. (Off-topic; which is why I can't ever see myself desiring a purely electric car.) It's a pity the flat 6 in the Boxster and Caymen are so tucked away.

I miss having the facility to get in and give the engine bay a good clean without a total faff with the hood and protective covers. I will be adding an EV to the fold at the end of this year, I can see the Boxster being driven a little bit harder to make up for the 30K miles I will do in the EV per annum ! [8D]

For me it’s the contrast stitching on the leather on the centre console against the piano black ; rather than plastic
May not be everyone’s taste but makes me smile and a change from my previous swathes of alcantara and carbon ..

That is very nice. 718 model, I presume? The 981 doesn't have the stitching run all the way down the centre console or up and over the glove box. I like that on the 718.

But can't beat a good bit of contrast stitching (and upper/lower leather contrast)...

Really like your yellow dials too!

Thanks yes it’s a 718 T which I think is the only way to get 20mm lowering on the PASM .

The stitching is a fun detail as are the cloth door handles but of course being Porsche the leather in this area and stitching are another extra even over the T interior ( itself an option ) as of course are the yellow dials and seat belts .
I bought the car new after a search and it had already been spec’d by the dealer - I’d actually put a deposit on a near identical spec car at OPC Wales but cancelled/ changed as it did not have the console/ dash leather/stitch and this car then came to my attention .

Perhaps a bit odd, but there are 2 features I like best about my 987.2
First is the satisfaction of sliding 2 carry on bags into the front with room to spare, road trip ahead!
Secondly, is the ease to wash it so quickly!
