Febuary 20th Run Out

After the sucess of Januarys Run out in to Mid Wales, the next date is the 20/02/05, starting point and assembly point TBA...
Although there is a trackday at Donnington that day with Trackzone at £99 (just a thought) but i would prefer to do a little journey into Hereford and the surrounding areas.
Cheers

hereford run is a great choice.....I used to travel the road from Droitwich to Hereford twice a week....its a stunner....we could then go further on down to Monmouth and Tintern......also great runs and pootle back up the Ross spur?.....OR we could meet to travel to the Trackday.....good shout!

personally not interested in the track day at Donington.but,i live on the doore step so wouldbe happy to join in the run then peel off for home as you got near Donington.

John, James

Hereford sounds like a good plan, for no other reason that James knows a route, and (personal reason only) I am not far from Droitwich (Stratford) and would find it easier to start the route from South of B'ham.

If we could have a route published in advance (or more advance than when you went on Sunday), then it would give time to hopefully be more familiar with where to head for. I could also give it to my lad to navigate from.

Looking forward to it already.....

John,

I think an organised track day for the East / West Midlands would be a terrific day out. Is this something we could arrange through a specialist company (like easytrack), or could we even arrange it ourselves direct with the facility - I know you are experienced in these areas.

My main concern is insurance - my policy does not cover trackdays, and however unlikely (on a well organised Porsche day), I really cannot gamble damaging (or afford to fix) my car.

Might be worth starting a separate thread to guage interest in a Track day (or sprint).

Insurance is somthing that you should sort out with your broker, £105 per tackday is the norm, unless you have a unlimited policy (but you need to do at least 10 trackdays a year to make it worthwhile) Ive organised many trackdays, and the whole thing depends on good organisation, and prompt payment from all attending, otherwise the responsibility is on the organiser..who sweats it out until everyone decides to turn up on the day expecting to pay! People like easyrtack only will consider it if enough people are up for it.. and no guarantee to a "Porsche" only trackday... They will asks Ford Cosworth owners and XR2 drivers..there money is a good as yours...
So in my expirience, it always better to organise you own day...
Cheers

John,

My poor English - rather than organising through Easytrack, I had meant that we could organise our own, but had assumed you would need to go through someone like Easytrack.

Is it possible for a group of individuals, e.g. the PCGB Region(s) to organise direct with the fackiility, such as Donington or Bedford ? If so, perhaps it would be possible with enough help for the region to have one.

Just a thought.

I'm also in that boat plus 10 days after I need an all day pass to do oulton and I've just consumed an all day pass yesterday from Donners......so until the mid week trackday season gets going I might struggle! will post nearer the date.

oh that is unless anyone's up for an early start...which I love but appreciate it doesn't suit everyone......yoda and I from 964rs are planning a brecon trip on this basis....0500 start 0900 return sometime in spring!

Number indicating positive response for Feb 20th, number need pass outs for other events, so who is going, and where are we going ?

I'm up for it if we are starting South of the region (please this time) as per the Droitwich - Hereford suggestion.

[FONT=Trebuchet MS"] Meet at the Little Chef at Droitwich just off junction 5 off the M5 at 8.30 and exploring Worcs/Herefordshire/Gwent and no lame excuses guys, we all need to get out once in a while
