Feeling the Love

After the love for my ventiler died slightly when i realised it was a bit down on power, i showed it some love yesterday to bring the bond back. So i fitted the new casette lid hinge i snapped, put some new plush black mats in, fitted the new bonnet dampers (has anyone done this? it made me feel like such a weakling!) and given it a polish. Its made me feel better about it, now the bonnet stays up i can fix the head lights, i will put my replacement speakers in tonight, put my wheels on and it should be better than ever. However i did a rubbish job polishing it which was a shame, and after i finished thought i'd missed a bit, but it turned out to be a 10p peice size bubble on my skirt which popped and a drop of water squished out. I hope my sills arent buggered as if it is ill give up on cars forever!
 
Cars definitely know when you love them. My father observed that cars which are cleaned often tend to run better than cars which are allowed to get dirty, outside and in. He was right.

I know that my S2 runs better when it is clean, when it is hoovered, when it has minor work done to it like changing the speakers or steering wheel or floormats. I don't know how, but it knows.

P.S. Water bubble? Look closely to see what the situation is. If it is the start of a problem, then dealing with it sooner rather than later will make it a smaller problem ...

It could well be the stoneguard underseal, it can get water behind it and bubble off. This isn't one to ignore though, as it means moisture is trapped against the metal under the Wurth gunk.

What are the sills like inside? Certainly, if it's a 10p-sized bubble of rust it'll be a lot worse inside but it's often not an awful job to repair if it's dealt with early enough. Don't ignore it, the seat belt and rear suspension all mount around there so it's an expensive MOT failure if it spreads.

Remember that the 944 is a lot less rust-prone than almost anything of it's age, just that it's not perfect!
 
I think you may be right about cars knowing.

I inadvertently suggested on this forum a couple of days ago that I may sell my 944 and what happened yesterday? - the clutch pedal goes straight down to the floor and it looks like the system has a leak.

It was fine until then!

Maybe i need to go and connolise the leather seats or something just to prove I was only joking!

open up the black plastic vent in the door pillar, look inside and you might be able to see if it has rusted through. If it was clear water you have squeezed out I'd say it hasn't rusted through (otherwise it would be dirty water) but if you have broken the seal of the Wurth it may start rusting now.
 
cheers for that ill look into it, and i always joke the car is like christine, it fell apart after i stipped loving it but its all good now!

Steve that's not the conventional way to solve a leaking clutch cylinder but I feel your pain [&o]

Just don't take a birch branch to it like Basil Fawlty :ROFLMAO:
