Dear all

R10 NEEDS YOU!

We need to sort out the club parking for this event. We have an area near the medical centre (Lets hope we don't need that) but we need to set up the marquee and flag, then man the area for Friday, Saturday, Sunday.

There is a really full programme of racing for the weekend including a 90's GT revival series for 993 GT2, GT1, Maclaren F1 ect!!!!!!!!!!!!!!. For those of us who used to watch GT1's ect racing not that long ago they are spectacular.

There is a ticket deal on offer for club members:

The tickets are priced at £20 per Porsche car with two people, they are normally £20 each, so they are BOGOF![FONT=verdana, geneva"]Telephone the Silverstone ticket office and quote this booking code :- GTSPCGB[FONT=verdana, geneva"] [FONT=verdana, geneva"]and with the ticket you then get to park in the area we will be manning in the centre of the circuit as opposed to half way to Brackley![FONT=verdana, geneva"] [FONT=verdana, geneva"]

So come on you lot, form an orderly coooooo - free tickets may be available for those helping.[:)][FONT=verdana, geneva"] [FONT=verdana, geneva"]

Thanks[FONT=verdana,geneva"]Pete[FONT=verdana,geneva"]

Hi Geoff

Thanks for the offer. That makes....let me see, scanning huge list carefully...3 of us!

Obviously going to be an overwhelmingly popular event it seems,

In the next couple of weeks I will try to sort out what is happening and when,

thanks again,

cheers
Pete

Hello Peter,

Just ordered our weekend tickets, so will be able to assist Sat and/or Sunday if required. Ticket office says centre parking passes will be sent to the club. Will you be distributing them?

Trevor and Anne Wilkinson

I have just bought two tickets in the ordinary way - grrr - but I should like to join you all in the Porsche parking area. Can this be done please?

OMG!!!!! This has all the marks of the bad old days when Silverstone say they will send the passes to head office, not because club Office will lose them, but because Silverstone will forget to send them!![:(]

Many thanks for the offer of help. I am finally back in the country after 5 weeks of travelling so I can now sort all this out.

More posts on this subject next week.

Pete

Dear all,

Quick update,

Spoke to Silverstone today - no news on whether I can get the car parking gate passes diverted to me for distribution as yet but i will call again tomorrow. As soon as i know more i will post on here.

Due to the very poor level of response for this event, can I suggest that all people planning to attend call Silverstone direct using the booking reference above. I have purchased my tickets today direct with Silverstone. I will check at the same time how many people have used this booking reference to determine if we need to man the parking area or not - if there are only 10 of us going I don't think it warrants a car park attendant all weekend!

For those wondering about Friday, it is free and so a weekend pass covers all your needs.

I will be at the circuit early Saturday and Sunday.

Look forward to seeing you there,

Pete

Dear all

Here is the latest info, provided today:
  • Those who have volunteered to help and have not yet purchased their tickets, please let me know if you can be around to help put up the Gazbo on Saturday morning at 9am. e mail direct on smallwoodpeter@hotmail.com. I should have 3 double tickets available as I write this for the helpers.
  • Those who have purchased tickets via the special deal direct with Silverstone, the parking passes should be with me early next week. If they arrive early enough and you e mail me your address i will post them out. alternatively we will have to distribute on the gate. If you e mail me i will send you my mobile number so we can communicate on the day.
  • I will be on site from 8am both days.
  • Those who are just turning up and some how have managed to get their parking permit with their ticket, we awill be parked directly opposite the medical centre on hard standing in the centre of the circuit, next to the Ferrari and Lotus club.
Any questions please e mail me above.

thanks and regards

Pete

Just booked our tickets [:)]

The number to call at Silverstone is 08704 588 272 (Not the booking number on Silverstone's website).

They then asked me to call Jeremy at "Motionworks" who are forwarding the centre transfer passes.

Spoke to Jeremy, and he has apparrently sent Robin Walker the centre passes. (I guess late bookers like me will still be sent when he gets notification from Silverstone)

So, hopefully all sorted.

Whatever happens we'll be there, centre transfers or not. [8D]

Just received my tickets - and they appear to be Sunday only...[&:]

Just called up and was told that as you can only buy weekend tickets in advance, the fact they have 6th May on them is irrelevant - they are weekend tickets...

Hope the people on the gate on Saturday know that!

Latest news:

I will not have any passes prior to the weekend to post out. They are not with me yet.[FONT=verdana, geneva"] [FONT=verdana, geneva"]Those of you have e mailed me, I will be happy for you to call me so that i can get a pass out to you. Please be aware that for the first time that i can ever remember, the passes for the centre transfer are for Saturday or sunday - not both - therefore we may have a shortage on one day or another. I have literally only just been told this - please do not shoot the messenger!!!![FONT=verdana, geneva"] [FONT=verdana, geneva"]Thanks[FONT=verdana, geneva"]Pete[FONT=verdana, geneva"] [FONT=verdana, geneva"]Regards[FONT=verdana, geneva"] [FONT=verdana, geneva"]Pete[FONT=verdana, geneva"]

Any chance of one for Sunday with my full price tickets ?

If so, please email me at rlw@btclick.com for my full address - but no problem if not.

Thanks

Richard

Hi Peter

Thanks for sorting out the passes.

A great day and good to see so many Porsches out competing for attention with the Corvettes, Astons et al.

Already looking forward to next year ! [:D]

Rgds,

Ravi
