Saturday 19 th June - Glenrothes Airfield Open Day

This was an event that a few of the members attended last year and was excellent fun. We have been invited along again this year again to show some of the cars. I understand that perhaps there is allot on in June with the club but for those wishing to attend, We will be meeting at the Railway Inn (next to Hawes Pier) at South Queensferry for breakfast and then a convoy drive to Fife Flying Cub. Meeting at 9.30am for a 10.30am departure.
If it is a sunny day we will be bringing along the Gazebo and providing a BBQ for those that have come along. (Please post up here if you hae not already emailed me if you are wishing to attend as I need to make the organisers aware of the area we will require for parking)

Thanks
Scott.

Ev and I will just be coming back from holiday that day but will get there later in the afternoon. Alan from the flying club has asked me for numbers when we have them. Scott, if you have Alan's details then can you let him know? I know there will be loads of visiting aircraft and flying too. Last year was a cracker so hoping for a good one this year too.

Just nicked this from the Flying Club website:

Fife Airport Open Day
Saturday 19th June 2010
11am - 4pm

The Annual Open Day takes place on 19th June. Following last year's hugely successful event, we have a range of activities and attractions planned, including:

> Air Experience Flights (bookable on the day)
> Aircraft on display on the ground
> Barbecue and a Sweetie Stall
> Stalls in the hangar with something for everyone
> A raffle with prizes including an Air Experience Flight and a Tandem Parachute Jump
> Guide Dogs for the Blind
> A Model Planes Stall

Aircraft will be flying in from clubs around Scotland (and further afield!) so there will be plenty to see as well as to participate.

Oh, and ..... the Club Chairman has volunteered to do a Tandem Parachute Jump on the day in support of Leonard Cheshire Homes. They will also have a stall on the day so a chance to support a local charity as well!

Hopefully, the weather will be as good as it was last year so do come along and enjoy a good day out.
