Hi there,

We have been invited along one of our members Gordon Bell to Fife Fling Club on Sat 4th July.

Please See Details Below !

I'm a member of Fife Flying Club based at Glenrothes Airport. They are holding an open day for friends and family on 4th July, from 11am till around 4pm. I have spoken to the Chairman, Alan, and he thinks it will be great if R1 members want to pop along and see what goes on at a small airfield. It is not an air show as such, but an opportunity to have a good look around the hangers, radio area, planes and other static displays put on just for the day. As it is a Saturday, there should be a fair amount of aircraft activity as well. There is also a plane lined up trial flights and other jollies. Instructors will be around if you want to chat about lessons etc.

I am told a BBQ is lined up. Also, the on-site bar & restaurant "The Tipsy Nipper" gets good reviews.

Stirling Classic Car club will also be there. Please email me
gordon.evelyn@yahoo.com before the end of this month if you want to come along. I'll let them know numbers beforehand.

Fife Flying Club web site is www.fifeflyingclub.co.uk <

Think I'll attend!! Scott are you advising Gordon who is going at the end of the week or will I email him myself? All the budding pilots from last Wednesday haven't got their names down yet!!!

Hi,
Shona and I will be attending and probalby Ricky in the white 928.
Will keep a lookout for meeting places/times, etc.
Donald.

Hi Donald,
I'll add you to the list. I have updated my forum profile with a picture of my car. It will be in the small car park when you arrive. I am flying that day so may not be on the ground when you arrive, but wont be far away.
See you then.
Gordon.

Hi All,

suggest meeting on Saturday at the Railway Inn at South Queensferry, (just along the road from the Hawes Inn) as we can get breakfast there,

I will be there about 9.30 for a bacon roll, and we can head off at 10.30 for run to Fife Flying Club

Regards
Scott.

Getting to Fife Flying Club on 4th July[FONT=verdana, geneva"]Directions:[FONT=verdana, geneva"]Head east along the A92 dual carriageway, exiting at the junction for Kirkcaldy west (also signed for Cluny Clays). Take the first exit towards Cluny, turning right at the small roundabout onto the B922. Keep going North till you are at the T junction with the A921. Turn right here then left again some 100 metres later (signed for Fife Airport). Head up the hill for a couple of hundred metres. You'll see the runway on your right. Watch when turning into the road running alongside the runway as the visibility ahead left is poor.[FONT=verdana, geneva"] [FONT=verdana, geneva"]Turn into the main car park at the east end of the runway. and park down on the west side near to Stirling Classic Car Club. My red 911 should already be there in the PCGB parking area.[FONT=verdana, geneva"] [FONT=verdana, geneva"]Sat Nav: KY6 2SL[FONT=verdana,geneva"] [FONT=verdana, geneva"]Google Maps: Enter "Fife Airport" to see a lovely picture that makes sense of the above directions![FONT=verdana, geneva"]

Glad you enjoyed it. Welcome back to one of the most expensive hobbies around! After you left there was a Spitfire fly past which was quite a surprise. Nearly missed it as I was just leaving at the time. I'll email any pics Ev took to you.

AAAAAARRRGH! Seriously jealous about the Tiger Moth (though not the modern stuff). Any chance of a repeat visit next year? Too many things that wouldn't wait last Sat so I couldn't come, but at least the VFR is back together (new regulator/rectifier and a new battery) and charging at 13V not 18V+! If I haven't come off it by then I'll see you folks at the Knockhill Speedfair on 19th.

I was flying again yesterday and the general feeling was that it was a great day. I'm sure it will happen again same time next year. I'll let everyone know via this forum. By the way, the Spitfire was a replica. I want one!

It was one of the best days!! I was up in a PIPER and Don flew it for a while while Ron and I viewed the wonderful scenery.
Will post photos for Mr Biggles soon.

Gordon, hope this is a yearly event......I want to see all those Guide Dog puppies again!!!! A big hat off to all the puppy walkers. It would break my heart parting with them (the dogs that it)!!

Kx
