found this on the web today try and figure it out

There are two rooms. In one room is a single lightbulb in a lamp on a table. In the other room are three identical electrical switches. One switch operates the light in the other room. The other two switches are dead.

You must find out which of the three switches operates the light. You have no tools. You may go to the other room to check the light only one time in your quest to find the live switch.

Well?

Go to the other room, wedge open the door. Wedge the door open in the first room. Wait till it is dark, then you can see when the light comes on. (Assuming they are close enough together.)

Sorry but wedging doors is not allowed (rooms two floors apart...) []

Turn first switch On for TEN minutes - sit and read book.
After ten minutes, turn swithch one OFF and turn switch two ON; go to second room immediatley: if light is on its switch two; if light is off and warm its switch one; if light is off and cold its switch three [8|].

In second room is book on Porsche cars so qualifying this post for the Forum...

Heaven forbid somebody posts something amongst his friends - it creates posts and traffic on the website but it didn' t mention Porsche - to the headmasters room Mr Miggs and bend over!
