I've owned my 997 Gen 2 C4S for just over a year and I've never been able to refuel it without the garage fuel pump shutting off at least once. I manage to fill the car up eventually but it is a bit annoying. Does this happen to other drivers or is there a secret knack for filling up a 911 which I've yet to master?

When I fill mine up I always invert the pump nozzle, it seams to work a lot better as well as keeping the hose a little further from the body work.

Never done it but here you go.
Yes, Steve is right. If your normal filler positioning is 12.30, try turning it to 2.40 (or 10.20) and you should get a clean fill. However, some pumps are better than others so you need to experiment a bit with your local suppliers, providing you have a choice, of course.

Yep, inverting the pump was the only way I could get the fuel to go in with any consistency.....I wonder whether Porsche are aware of this, as it seems we all have the issue?
