film protection for bumpers

Has anyone any experience in having protective film applied to their front bumpers? I'm having my bumper re-painted due to stone chips and am thinking of having a film applied to save having to eventually re-paint it again.

I've done some searching and the company below looks a decent outfit but Peterborough is a far way for me to travel (I'm in North Lincs)

paintshield

thanks

Other people on here (not in 993 section from memory) have spoken highly of Paintsield in past. But I've never heard a long term report about how well it weathers. If it detracts from the overall gloss of a nicely waxed car I think I'd prefer to put up with the odd chip/touch up. Besides some of my stone chips are on bonnet now and I don't want to cover whole car in cling film. At some stage I really must get bonnet/wings/PU resprayed.

Going off track slightly, I'm also in the position where my bonnet really needs a respray to address the stone chip issue. Any idea how much this is likely to cost?
