After 15 months of missing my beloved Boxster S (MY03) I have finally achieved my boy hood dream.

After months of looking for the right one, I or shall I say (we) my better half and I finally purchased a 996 Turbo!!

What a car picked, her up today, (pants weather but......) and am in love with her already. [:)]

Had been looking at stacks of car's ranging across the board, but i think for US this is the best decision.

Artic Silver with Black leather, every extra going bar the sports seats, previous owner wanted the heated seats. Hmmmmm

Seen's as my birthday was on 9/11 seems rather ironic that the 911 was theboy hood pin up.

Anyway just wanted to say, back in the game, with 2 very special ladies........

Pictures up soon.................

My dream car too, best car I have ever had.(Artic Silver, black leather) When I bought my 964 I looked lovingly at a Turbo but asked if they came 4WD Tiptronic. "Never" said the man no one would want an automatic turbo and why 4WD? Last year I collected mine but the man was no longer there! In between my 996C4S Tip was a fine introduction. (I didn't want heated seats, the electric sports seats are just fine, comfortable on the road and tightened up for the track) ENJOY!!!

[:D] Ha ha, funny that fireblade! The look of all tubo's, just really have the "wantability" factor. The clean curves, noise, handiling, power, and just how I feel when I think about it and when i'm in it! sorry her. The quaility is amazing, I have just read word for word the owners manual. WOW! The fact now that I can turn up at an event, and feel part of it again, and the fact thet you get to meet really awesome people from all works of live. Passion and loves of all things Porsche! Oh and the knives are brillaint!!! [:)]

Mine is an everyday car, short commute but I cannot afford two cars nor do I need to! Come the summer I can drive it to track days have a great time with the car making up for the deficiancies in my skills, staying ahead of most other cars in comfort (I know Caterhams and Atom's are fun but soooo uncivilised after ten laps) then drive home again in comfort. (Unlike some more exotic cars which break down or have to be trailered everywhere!). I have never heard of anyone regretting buying a Turbo, just wish I had been able to afford one years ago. Welcome, the fun starts here.

ORIGINAL: zen4590 I know exactly how you feel !!  I also recently realised same dream and swapped my 997 C2S for a 997 Turbo (having spent 18 months waiting for prices to fall to my level [;)]).  Same engine as yours basically except for VTG.  What a machine !!!  I have had several Porsches in the past (Boxster 2.5, Boxster S, C2S) but this is first one that REALLY goes as expected when you hit the loud pedal.  I too have had nothing but rain since I collected it but I found out it will spin all 4 wheels if you get too enthusiastic when over-taking !!!.  We are lucky guys !!!  Drive carefully and enjoy the power [:D]
Spin all 4 wheels [:D]

well my 997 turbo has been gone now for about 3 months awaiting 997gt3gen2. try this out , put passenger seat forward tie with bindertwine to sports chrono meter. Stick girlfriend or someone else ( thing guys) to back of passenger seat with velcroix . Position yourself in passenger rear seat undressed . Hire Lewis Hamilton for a standing start, what a bang. That f.....g bindertwine always fails. Cannot fault 997 turbo never fails to excite.

ORIGINAL: zen4590 OK, so it was 2nd gear manouver past a slow truck in the WET with sports chrono on [;)].  However, I did once see a video on U-Tube when the 997 Turbo was first launched of a guy doing a standing start in the dry and it most certainly lit up all four wheels then !!  Not something I will be trying in mine (having at least some degree of mechanical sympathy) !!
I wasn't being sarcastic just laughing at your joy [;)]

What a fabulous car this is! Picked my own MY2002 Turbo just over a week ago and have driven it several times now - each time loving it more than the last. This car is absolutely amazing. I was looking for something with a little power and boy, have I found it! The car is a delight. Pics attached inline. Looking forward to getting out to a club meeting one of these days.
