After much searching and long nights on the net searching everywhere me and my father have at last bought a 993RS to add to what is becoming a collection. We have ended up getting a Speed yellow comfort spec car with the clubsport wing pack, half rear cage, air bag ( kind of strange but oh well) etc
I managed to get a chance to drive it before we get it shipped to Dubai after flying back into the UK last week and was blown away. It was very tight"¦just like a new car which helps explain the 40000km that's on the clock. I was quite surprised at how light it was in comparison to our 964RS (track biased) with regards to steering and general controls. It doesn't sound anywhere near has hard edged as the 964 and doesn't feel as aggressive but it did seem quicker up the rev range! Mind you I didn't really push it as it was the first time Id driven on wet roads in nearly a year"¦.didn't fancy stuffing it in a hedge![8|]
When I got back in the old girl ( Silver 68 in the picture) to drive home I thought the clutch peddle had snapped"¦[:D]..Still amazing though how similar the cars are"¦even the dash and the seating position hasn't change much! Mind you it did feel dead in terms of performance.
Really looking forward to getting it over here and seeing how it gets on at the autodrome! Should be interesting to see how it matches up against the 964RS with the same driver behind the wheel.

Power Steering with the 993RS and softer suspension.........more user friendly.........great car with the multi-link rear etc...but...[;)]

But"¦"¦the 964 is more of an animal"¦more aggressive, more angry![:D] More likely to give"¦you know"¦that feeling[;)]

Know that feeling only too well!!!.........Porsche got the balance absolutely spot on with the 993RS/NGT they actually evolved from the 964RS and eliminated the unpredictable raw basic animal caveman characteristics and produced the finest 911 ever.[:)]

Mind you it's each to his own and wrong to compare but a lillte rare for a 64RS driver to go 93RS but great to have the comparison.........

Des - not so rare. I currently own a 964rs (see piccie left), but it's with Paul McLean... My 993 RS Clubsport is just being readied by GT One! I'm very excited[:D]

If we can keep SimonExtreme out of the equation [:D], maybe a subtext to Judgement Day 2007 would be a run off between the 64s and 93s?

Thats why its going to be soo nice to have both! will be good for objective comparisons with lap times and driveability etc.

two weeks to go and she should be here.....[:)]

>>Melv - yes, the black one. It's getting some TLC at the moment.

Is that because you are having salamis to replace your dampers?
