Finally the day arrived and I picked up my new GT4. Having owned both versions I can honestly say that the new engine is much more responsive, faster ( within the 3k rpm I’ve driven it to) more agile with lighter steering and as yet no annoying noises from the cage or seatbelt. ?? After pick up the car went to bicester for a ceramic coat, so hoping to pick her back up in the week. Great handover from Hatfield OPC.

Very nice Jose ... just in time for Spring.! The Aurum wheels look good with white.

Look forward to hearing more comprehensive impressions when you get the car back.

I'm sure the Twinfan Dave should be picking-up his car soon?

Jeff

Saturday morning for me, although I've just been told my harnesses won't be fitted as Porsche forgot to send the appropriate mounting brackets with the car. They were ordered from the Motorsport department last week and were due for delivery today but the system is now saying next week. Bit of a bugger, as it's a 4hr fitment job with seats out etc so I'll have to take it back to the OPC for half a day in the near future. First world problems eh?

Your car's looking good, Jose [:D]

Yes, I thought you'd mentioned an early March delivery Dave.

It sounds as though everything's in hand, harnesses excepted, although the standard seat belts are in place to make it all legal. I'm a bit surprised that you opted for the rear "scaffolding" though, given that you're not planning to track the car?

Not long to wait now, and hope the handover goes smoothly. Keep us posted.

Jeff

I may track mine in the future, but it's more about the vibe/event/ethos of the car which is why I've gone Racing Yellow/Clubsport/steel brakes [;)]

Interesting about the harnesses, mine were not fitted, nor the extinguisher. I was not asked before collection. Ive now asked for them to be installed and the car needs to be booked in. Is my expectation correct that I shouldn’t be paying for these options to be fitted?

That’s my ingoing position

I was asked if I wanted the harnesses and extinguisher fitting prior to collection. If your OPC didn't ask you, or you didn't say you wanted them fitting, then you'll need to ask them about a later installation cost.

It's ~4hrs to fit the harnesses by the way - the seats need to come out.

Thanks, they didn’t ask, so my expectations is that I won’t pay as its factored already in the buy price.
