Thanks to all those who have answered my continually stupid questions! I'll tell you how I get on.

Now where can I get that sports exhaust from.........[;)]

Congrats, you have bought a great car
I bought a MYo4 C2 ,Basalt Black/blk interior , high spec 996 last July. Fitted the sports exhaust about four weeks later. Life has never been the same since!

Re sports exhaust, check out http://www.scuderiasystems.com/M-Media.htm
as an alternative to the OEM sports exhaust. I think they cost around £1300 by the time it's installed and you've paid your VAT. When I spoke to these guys in November they were offering a full no quibbles money back guarantee plus £200 for your trouble, if you didn't like the result. I think the chap I spoke to was called Manu.

According to him the quality of their mufflers are better than the OEM sports exhaust, the sound is more genuine / less manufactured and you gain 7bhp (on a 997 which I was enquiring about) which they can prove.

Be sure to check out "Exhaust Video Clips" on the website. I must say, I was pretty conviced and would probably have taken the plunge, if I weren't planning on trading out of my car in the next six months or so. Does anyone have any experience with these exhausts ?
