"Fine wines and Belgian Choclates" with my New Targa from my OPC

Guys,

A few people asked me if I got a bottle of Champagne with my new 997.2 Targa 4S.

Well I am afraid to say that it was not a nice bottle of Crystal or Moet etc but.

Here is a picture of what my OPC in Solihull presented to me on collection of my new car.

It did feel a bit like I should have a shiny grey suit on and talk like Swiss Tony and referring to " Buying a new Porsche is like Making Love to a Beautiful woman, they expect fine wines and Belgian Chocolates etc etc.

However I will say it was a very nice touch for a wine lover such as myself!!

Also the fact that it was in a very high quality box embossed with the Porsche Logo and the Compliments of Porsche Centre Solihull made it seem very special indeed.

Maybe different OPC's have different internal "policies"?

I didn't ask, but I got a nice bottle of Bollinger. The wife will like that one when she eventually arrives from Australia... ;-)

Also, the car came with key fobs for each of the keys. Finally, the OPC removed a power cable for my PogoAlert and installed it in the new car without charge.

Nice gift Nigel, the personnel touches do add that silver lining to the overall purchase.

Regards
Mark

Mark,

Yes agreed it must depend on the centre, and what they have laid down as a policy for new owners.

I also got to New Porsche Design Key fobs, but has been mentioned else where they are metal, meaning that its metal to metal against the key and may be prone to rattling.

Whilst I was collecting my car, the nice lady from the Tecquipment department gave me the new Tecquipment Cataloge and the Porsche Design accessories brochure too.

I have noticed there is a very nice new style key ring in there just for PDK owners, made of a scale replica of the PDK gears - Nice. it is £33.00 though - wow!!

Finally I also got s copy of the new Christopohrous magazine, which seemed fitting as it had a large article in it to celebrate the launch of the new Targas, with a nice photo shoot around Lake Garda, looks like another road trip we need to plan with my new car then!!

Does not look like I will be getting my car out today though, we already have floods here in the Midlands this morning [:(]

How long has she been on order?
[:D]

That's a really nice touch! When I bought my new Gen1 in April 07 I got a bottle of champagne from mine, two bottles of oil, £500.00 worth of accessories and a few other sweeteners.

LOL,

I too read it that way, I assumed there must be a back order on the top models with all the options on for the aussie market!![;)]

[:D]

Been on order for about 8 months, red hair, great airbags ;-)

People often ask me if she was a mail-order bride. I find this very insensitive.

The Royal Mail lose around 2 million letters and parcels each year, and to suggest that I would trust the
delivery of my wife to them is insulting in the extreme.

She was sent by DHL next day delivery... [:D]

So she will be delivered next week then after you fill in the DHL card they leave if you don't get to the door in sub 5 seconds......[:D]

I purchased my car from the same OPC..

Got nothing [:'(] ..
however after asking ! I blagged a keyring!

Sorry to hear that, I think with my first car I had to really play my face to get anything from them.

Different this time perhaps its the whole recession thing eh?
