Finnish production to finish

I feel for the guys and gals who will end up redundant in Finland over this. Whatever happens to the factory, it will be an end of a chapter in their lives.. Imagine if in 2013 they end up making Citroen Saxo's or something, thats got to be a downer.

At least they could afford one! [;)]
 
P are only going to make this change at a time that warrents a major re-tooling - which implies 2012 is start of production of a "988" - timing seems about right. (Or perhaps there has already been news on this anyway)

They may also start making Porsche tractors and toasters. Perhaps a bicycle or motorcycle. Maybe a tank or two....

I was talking with a Finnish colleague the other day about my car and he told me Valmet have been around for decades working as a contract manufacturer to the motor industry, they built the Calibra for Opel, loads of different Saabs and one slightly less prestige brand which I will let those interested read for themselves
