Fire Extinguisher

I need a fire extinguisher for a trip to France. I want to fit a unit to my driver's seat.

Is there an approved mounting and extinguisher that will not invalidate my Porsche warranty? I have seen units online from Rennline and Brey Krause that look like the sort of thing I want.

Thanks

Graham

Particular reason why you want one for this trip? Its not compulsory. See this link for AA advice by country.

Personally I think they are of limited use but that's a matter of opinion. I keep one in the house and in the caravan......oops! let that one slip out. Not in the car. Just a good 1st aid kit (including a ventaid), emergency heat blankets, torch & high viz vests x2 (they are compulsory in France). I see that you also have to carry your own breathalyser there from late this year!

If you carry a fire extinguisher when in france you have to stop and use it if you come across a vehicle on fire, otherwise you can be fined for failing to do so.

Best not carry one![:)]

Thanks for the advice and the link. I was reacting to a paragraph in the newsletter issued by Stratstone for my Le Mans trip, which is clearly incorrect.

I would still like to fit an extinguisher, but will wait until I am back in the UK. Consequently, my original question still applies.

Presuming you have a 987 there is a Porsche extinguisher mount, restraining strap etc ask at the OPC Parts counter first then shop around.

I don't have the parts catalogue for the 986 but if you check on the Porsche websites there is one which has what they refer to as the PET lists for each model available for download, that's where I got mine.
