First 4 weeks, first 1500 miles

Finally took delivery 14th June and have since been to Alsace... photo taken in the Vosges mountains on the Route de Crete.
Car was supplied in immaculate condition by OPC at Park Lane... thanks to Matthew for his patience during the 2 hour handover.
First impressions are that my 2.7 boxster is everything I hoped for. Fast, stable, refined and safe........ a joy to drive.
Only minor concern is the soft top drums or rattles sometimes at 90mph. Seems to be initiated by a cross wind. I intend taking this up with the OPC but any advice is welcome.
Supprised at the fuel economy. 34mpg for each 500 mile trip averaging 68mph for the journey. I like the OBC refinement that allows readings in mpg while recording the speed and distance in kilometers.
Thanks to all on the forum that gave advice on my car including insurance. Great service and price from Liverpool Victoria

Garyw....Glad to learn of other porsche owners who like the Vosges. Where was your photo taken ?
Mine was 1 miles north of the Markstein on the Route de Crete

Will get back to you, we were lost and following a group we had gone over with....?

Off to the swiss alps next month so should get some amazing shots out there.

Peter,

there are a few common noises for Boxster tops, some are rectified by a piece of foam fitted by the dealer. There will be a natural resonance frequency at some point, just go above or below 90 if this is the natural frequency.

You could try wiping some bby oil on the window seals, this sometime helps wind whitle/roar around the window 'frame'.

Well i'm green, not because i've had to much ale, but with envy.

Other half an I are starting to plan for next July, when we'll be taking a cruise down to the pyrenees. May even take in a stage of the Tour.

Peter, we think we were about 4 miles from Munster, near Colmore!! heading to the Baloons.

garyw, Looking at your photo I guess you were on the Route de Crete. My photo was taken on this road, 500 meters from the turning off to Munster...a really hairy road with great cornering potential. Great Boxster country.
