Aarrrhh, Im sat here waiting for the RAC to arrive. My 1990 C4 will not start, the battery seems fine the engine turns over with vigor but just doesnt catch....has anyone got an idea of what may be causing this ?

Its been raining and when I open the engine lid there is alot of water sitting around electricals and the plugs as normal - Im hoping its just a bad connection....

964 DME relay is under the front luggage compartment,Drivers side...

Worth a check, I to carry a spare but it is possible to put links in to bypass the relay.(to test)

As soon as the RAC guy turned up and touched the car it fired up ! I had taken out the DME relay and given it a bit of a shake but it also could be the immobiliser too. Apparently these are attached to either the fuel pump, starter motor or the coil electrics and can play up.

Ive just ordered a 993 relay to keep as a back up incase it was that, otherwise Im just a bit nervous now that if it was the immobiliser it could easily happen again...
