Hi all,

Firstly, can i thank the forum community to help give me the confidence to go out and finally buy a 997.1 C4S... my first porsche!

Bought it from Baker Brothers in Surrey (independent prestige cars).

Spec as follows :

Carerra C4S in black / 2006 plate
Tip
Sports seats in black
Crest on seats
Sun roof
Electric memory seats
Cruise control
PCM (old version with no bluetooth / ipod connectivity)
BOSE
Park Assist
19" Carrera Sport alloys
Mulit-function steering wheel...

58k miles
FSH - OPC and RSJ

Can anybody give me any pointers on things to look out for on the 997.1 C4S, any inherent faults etc?

Many thanks

RP

Excellent choice!

Mine is very similar in spec. Do you have Sport Chrono? Makes a fair difference at least on my car.
I've put 22,000 miles on it in two years - it's a great daily driver. I'm addicted!

Stuff to be aware of - this and more you will see on this forum but here's my personal experience :

Springs - they break, particularly rears so find out if yours have been replaced. It's not funny when they do as the car is literally grounded.
Leaks - if you don't park on the level then check your door seals as these can go.
Do you have a rear wiper? Seal can go on that too. You would be surprised how much water can get in through such a small hole.

Has the RMS and IMS been replaced? I have a Warranty Direct warranty which required these be replaced before I got the car so I'm happy.

Aside from the above I have only needed one brake fluid service and some tyres - these last me around 10k miles, you can get good deals if you look around.

If you don't have a warranty you might consider taking one out for peace of mind.
I took out a two year deal when I got the car and although it hasn't quite paid for itself I was happy enough to buy in to a further year. It's up to you though.

Have fun

Andrew
