Hi

I am a true 911 Virgin, always loved the shape and always wanted to own one and now my wish could be coming true.

I am looking at parting with about £20k. I am dangerous with a spanner and don't relish the thought of £1000s in repair bills. A well maintained 964 seems to be the answer as I dont fancy a LHD 993.

I would appreciate any help/advice you could give me. Please assume I know nothing and you wont go far wrong.

Thanks

Ian

I will be interested in the replies you get as I have recently bought a 964, left hand drive. It is awesome! Look forward to the advice you get!

Ian,
Welcome to the 964 Forum, and hopefully into Porsche ownership.
I would advise you to have a look at the Buyer's Guide on http://www.porsche964.co.uk/ It has most of the information that you will need when looking for the right car.

Best advice ever is; Buy with your head not your heart. Even then, get a proper Porsche Independent Specialist ( Not the AA or RAC) to check the car out before parting with your money. A pre sales inspection will cost about £ 150 but may save you £1,000s later.

There are a number of really good 964s out there, but also a great number of very badly maintained ones.

Best wishes,
