First drive of the year

Got the 993 out for first time since November.
"Just popping to B&Q" I said to GF. Turned left out of house instead of right.
45 mins later I was heading over Duke's pass in the Trossachs.
Guy in a yellow Cayman doing same as me gave a wave.
A bit icy (had the ABD light flash a few times) and I was very cautious. But it doesn't matter how slow you go with our cars - still a fantastic drive.
Huge smile on my face.[:)]
"No they were out of stock, it'll have to wait to next weekend"

Very jealous! For two reasons - 1) wish I was closer to those locations to take the 993 to, and 2) the indie I use for servicing has been making excuses for the past 6 weeks about delays in getting to do the annual service on the car.

Totally agree with the comment above that you can drive them slow and still enjoy every minute. After a point it's difficult to keep finding faster and better handling toys. One of the great things about the 993 is that I have a grin on my face just knowing it is in the garage!

Good grief people, cars are meant to be driven. Put winter tyres on the damn things and use them as the good Doctor intended. Mine is sitting in the garage just now covered in a weeks worth of winter road crud that will take a couple of hours to wash off tomorrow but I wouldn't have it any other way.

Apart from anything else, I don't know how you can go two months without driving it.

You're absolutely right Clyde - I'm feeling ashamed of myself[;)]
Right, tomorrow I'm going to do some jobs on her (like track down the electric fault in the air con, a good clean etc) and use her next week for the commute.

It was to cold.
Salt on the road
Stuff in the way....

Ok I give up, loads of reasons but suitably embarrassed for leaving my car in the garage

[FONT=verdana, geneva"] P.S.: For those among you who are old enough to remember the Blues Brothers movie, here is Jake's (Jim Belushi) original list of excuses:
  1. I ran outta gas.
  2. I had a flat tyre.
  3. I didn't have enough money for cab fare.
  4. My tux didn't come back from the cleaners.
  5. An old friend came in from outta town.
  6. Someone stole my car.
  7. There was an earthquake,
  8. "¦ a terrible flood,
  9. "¦locust's.
  10. It wasn't my fault!!
