Had my 944S2 up on the hoist today for the first time for a full check over by a friend who is a Porsche trained engineer. All we found was the front anti-roll bar needs a full rebush and new support bars( one was broken ).Anyone used FLOW-FLEX bushes?Very happy with what we saw,all good very well maintained and sills excellent.Recent past owners should be proud.
I bought the car with an ABS fault -start up all ok,set off ABS pump kicks in and warning light on,but not in reverse, suspect a sensor, any other thoughts.

glad its all good news, i needed a support bar welded back recently, cured a slight clunk, great news bout your cills, sorry cant help with tech questions but sure someone will be along shortly, enjoy her.... regards jason p

I have the Flo Flex bushes on my front ARB. On close inspection the mouldings are not as smooth as Powerflex bushes but they perform very well and I'm happy with my purchase. I fitted them along with a thicker front ARB that I had powdercoated and also some SAR support brackets, made a big difference! Will post a pic if I remember.

Have you considered using the factory bushes? I had all new factory standard bushes on my suspension last year. The fact that they are not 20 years old and knackered makes a huge difference, and the NVH refinement is impressive, far improved from when the car was on its old bushes.

Any new bush is better than a 20 year old one but I think people sometimes fall into the trap of assessing various aftermarket components in comparison with the worn out old factory ones, and assuming they are better on that basis, which is not a valid comparison. For me, all new factory suspension has been something that has worked very well. That said, I am on 968 castor mounts rather than 944 ones, but they are nowadays the factory component listed for 944s as wel as 968s in any case.

I've got flo-flex bushes on my front ARB along with the SAR support brackets. Made a big difference to the way the car turns in.

What benefit do the SAR stabiliser brackets have over standard, just more rigid or something else ?

Nick

They stiffen up the ARB by joining it to another part of the body on both sides (front of wishbone mounting point IIRC). Makes quite a difference and people have commented that this should have been done from the factory such is the benefit.

The car feels much better when changing direction quickly.

And they're only about 30 quid!

Interesting. I've just had my ARB refurbed and a drop link replaced. RPM, where I have it serviced, are very close to SAR. As far as I know they only fitted standard parts, I wonder why they don't recommend changing?

10 minutes a side to fit them if the car is up in the air. A bit longer but still not that tough rolling about on the ground with a trolley jack!

The 2 hole side attaches to your ARB holder and the 1 hole side to the long bolt at the front of the wishbone to body union.

Thanks for that Stuart, very helpful will fit additional brackets and poly bushes all round. On 968 castors already so should be good.
